2011 marks the 40th anniversary of "Our Bodies, Ourselves," the landmark book about women's health, reproduction and sexuality.
In celebration, Our Bodies Ourselves held a free public symposium on women's health and human rights on October 1, 2011. Our Bodies, Our Future: Advancing Health and Human Rights for Women and Girls brought together women from 12 countries (Armenia, Bulgaria, India, Israel, Japan, Nepal, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, Senegal, Serbia, Tanzania and Turkey) who shared their extraordinary journeys transforming "Our Bodies, Ourselves" for their own countries.
Also in October, Simon & Schuster released the ninth U.S. edition of "Our Bodies, Ourselves," featuring many new voices and perspectives along with updated information on women’s reproductive health and sexuality. |
